Want some insight into what people think, then have a look at The People Project

Want to know about all the stuff happening out there that could impact on your business?

No time to find out about any of it?

Well look no further, as FutureScoping does all the hard work for you.

FutureScoping is also available as an effective workshop technique, designed to maximise
the number of great ideas generated with the minimum use of your valuable time.

USUSAL APPROACH

Your typical idea generation session starts with a ‘blank sheet of paper’ and expects attendees to be creative to order.

An unrealistic expectation of most people, this approach is time consuming and usually generates ideas that are little more than variations on what already exists in a market.

This isn’t to say that the obvious has no value. But experience suggests that the really BIG wins come from thinking beyond small incremental developments; from the different, the unexpected and the disruptive.

The problem is, it’s not always easy to generate such ideas.

FUTURESCOPING APPROACH

Rather than start with nothing, and spend a long time getting nowhere, FutureScoping provides a turbo-charge to thinking by borrowing from, and building on, what others have done already.

A springboard for inspiration, FutureScoping uses an extensive, card based library of novel and emerging ideas, from different markets and countries, to fast-track development of new product and service initiatives.

Rather than filter by apparent relevance, again falling foul of market preconceptions, cards are ‘dealt’ at random, forcing people to look beyond convention, and to think laterally about the challenges they face.

PROCESS, DELIVERABLES AND COSTS ?

A FutureScoping session will last between 3 and 4 hours, with 6 to 12 people being the optimum number of attendees (although the approach also works well for smaller groups, including one-on-one ‘consulting’ sessions).

Whether working to a very specific brief (e.g. we need a new line extension), or more general ‘blue sky’ idea generation, we would hope to generate between 10 and 20 relevant, actionable initiatives in each session, ready for further discussion & development, feasibility testing and research (remembering that it’s always easier to make a great but radical idea feasible, than it is to make a feasible but safe idea great).

The cost of an individual FutureScoping session is £4,500, with savings of up to 20% for muliple sessions within any 12 month period.
